Kirstenbosch turns 100

CARPETS OF BLOOMS FLOURISH IN THIS NATIONAL BOTANICAL GARDEN WHICH WAS FOUNDED IN 1913 TO STUDY AND PROMATE THE INDIGENOUS FLORA OF SOUTHERN AFRICA.
REACHING UP THE EASTERN SLOPE OF THE MOUNTAIN, THE GARDENS ARE AS REMARKABLE FOR THEIR IMPOSING SETTING AS THEY ARE FOR THE MAGNIFICENT DISPLAY OF INDIGENOUS FLORA FOUND GROWING THERE.
THE GARDEN COVERS 560 ha FILLED WITH OVER 6000 SPECIES OF INDIGENOUS PLANTS AND TREES.
