Walter Sisulu: 105th anniversary of his birth

Walter Sisulu (May 18, 1912 – May 5, 2003) was a South African anti-apartheid activist and was at one time Secretary General of the African National Congress. He was married to Albertina Sisulu who was also active in the struggle against apartheid.

On 12 August 1952, Sisulu was arrested, and consequently banned under the Suppression of Communism Act. (http://www.sahistory.org.za/dated-event/walter-sisulu-arrested-under-suppression-communism-act)
